OUTPOST 80’s PROM NIGHT

Come one, come all to the Outpost’s 80’s Prom Night! It starts at 7pm at Taylor Hall (305 W. Swallow in Fort Collins). Come dressed in your prom best from the 80’s and get ready to have a ROCK BAND EXTRAVAGANZA!! Form your bands now, and the battle of the bands will commence THURSDAY!!

This week, we are honored and privileged to have John and Anita Koeshall with us! They are missionaries and the leaders of Students for Christ on college campuses in Europe. They will be with us from Tuesday through Friday. You definitely want to take advantage of this. Here’s the schedule…
Tuesday, March 29
6pm– Dinner, anyone is invited – location TBA
7pm– They will visit different small groups
Wednesday, March 30
12pm– Lunch on Campus with John and Anita
2-6pm– They will be free to hang out. Opportunity to have someone on one time, a possible hike with John or Anita in the foothills.
7-8:30– Opportunity to have them visit your small group.
9pm – Leadership meeting at Taylor Hall (DON’T FORGET!!)
Thursday, March 31
8-9am– John and Anita visit LTC
9am-12pm– Opportunity for one on one or further group discussion.
12pm-2pm– Lunch on Campus with John and Anita
7pm – Outpost
9pm– Hangout
Friday, April 1
John leaves for Montana
Anita will be with us for the entire day.

There’s lots of cool things happening this weekend! Check it out…
Have you ever wondered about the Holy Spirit? Seems like He’s the least talked about person of the Trinity. Some people don’t even recognize the role of the Holy Spirit in our own lives! Sure, the doctrines and ideas of the Holy Spirit can seem a bit strange. We are lucky enough to have with us this weekend, Dick Schroeder from our own Big Sky Chi Alpha. He’s going to be talking all week long about the Holy Spirit. Here are some opportunities to come hang out with Dick!
Thursday, Feb 17 – Come eat lunch at noon with Dick Schroeder in the LSC dining hall
Thursday, Feb 17 – Come listen to Dick Schroeder speak at Outpost – 7pm – LSC 228
Friday, Feb 18 – @ 5pm, Come to the Holy Spirit Dig-In at JNick’s house (2218 Ayrshire) and bring something to eat potluck style. We will have a huge meal together and learn about the Holy Spirit!
Saturday, Feb 19 – 9am-9pm, come for a lengthy, in depth study of “The Father Heart of God” at the Murfler’s (3019 Rustic Ct.) Bring a sack lunch, and $5 for dinner.
Support Raising Training

So, if you are planning on going on a mission trip with us this semester, we want to teach you how to support raise!
This Saturday, February 5th, we will be having our support raising training seminar at Foothills Assembly of God. It starts at 10:30am and we will be providing lunch. It should be over with by 1:30pm.
You need to bring with you your application, a $100 deposit, and 2 copies of your passport. If you lost your application, you can get another one here. If you cannot make it, let Duncan know ASAP!

Outpost Missions Summit

This week, we will be having our Outpost Missions Summit! Pretty exiting stuff. All week, we will be focused on missions, and why God calls us to advance the Kingdom around the world. Here are some upcoming events, so make note of these…
Wednesday, January 26 – 6:30pm – E. Scott Martin, our national Chi Alpha missions director will be hanging out with us at the “White House” at 1032 E. Prospect. Come with tough questions about missions, and if your small group meets that night, feel free to make that your small group!
Thursday, January 27
12:00pm – We will be having lunch on campus with Scott probably in the LSC. Come by to eat with us!
3:00pm – We will be having an in depth missions breakout session with Scott somewhere on campus, so be listening for that. He will have tons of amazing stories and a Q&A time.
7:00pm – Scott will be speaking to us at our weekly Outpost meeting in the LSC 228. Also, we will be handing out our mission applications that night, so be ready!
Friday, January 28th – 7:00pm – We will be having dinner at Jessi and Courtney’s place (1527 Mathews) with a missionary couple from China! They will be telling us about China and some opportunities there.

Written by duncan on November 19th, 2010Hey Outpost! So, as 2010 is getting close to coming to an end, there are some dates to remember, so write them down, or make alarms in your phone calendar like I do.
Saturday, December 4, 2010 – Girl’s Christmas Mug Exchange Extravaganza – A mug exchange as well as a cookie making party. We will be making the cookies for the guys small groups as a Christmas gift from the girls. Potluck snacks, bring a mug, and dress Christmas-y. 7pm – 10pm at Lauren Chester’s house – 2905 Ross Dr. Unit m17.
Thursday, December 9th, 2010 – Outpost Christmas Party – We will be having an Ugly Christmas Sweater Party! Prizes for the ugliest sweaters, and also a photo area to take awkward small group photos. There will be snacks, drinks, and of course, karaoke! Don’t miss this! It will be in Taylor Hall at Foothills Assembly of God at 305 W. Swallow. Starts at 7pm.

Tuesday – Saturday, January 4th – 8th, 2011 – Big Sky SALT Conference – This is it! If you are a man, you will be on the Men’s Retreat. It is this Friday through Sunday in Winter Park, CO. Cost is $10. We will be meeting at the LSC Bus Stop at 4:30pm on Friday.
